L. F. Markey is my muse. When l first began lurking aboot the East she took pity upon my hungry eyes and misguided meanderings and smuggled me into her inner ring. Mmm. Dedicated designer (L.F Markey) minor celebrity (she is formed solely from the shavings from Mickey Rourkes 4th nose) and awesome editor at large (the flash of genius that is the ‘Freaky Jason’ magazine) she is, how you say, THe tits, monsieur. The point of my pitiful brown-nosing leads me to my subject: l conducted a head to head style interview with designers Christopher Shannon, J. W. Anderson, Natascha Stolle and the woman herself Markey#1 on Wednesday in the design studios of C.S, N.S and L.F. My focus was upon the inaccesbility of fashion to young designers and the barriers the elite ward off the talent with. It went exceedingly well and after oh so subtly leaking it here (so subtle, l have no links to outside blogs and 1 fan, my own birth mother) l will surely be replacing Jefferson some time next week. None too shabby.
Notes to self:
Film:
I went to the Sony preview screening of 'Cadillac Records' during the day, Beyonce Knowles new flick staring Adrien Brody and directed by Darnell Martin * Worth a watch* not earth shattering, brain scrambling cinema but as stimulating as a good scratch, worth watching if only to educate yoself up on the true life tales of musical genius pioneering puppies: Etta james, Chuck Berry, Leonard Chess and Muddy Waters.
Music:
I work with this kid, understated and awesome http://www.myspace.com/iamtwins Jafferey is the prodigal producer littering London with the inspired electronic elixir Asobi Seksu's. Idling under the alias of ‘Twins’ the undercover music lover has assigned his fine ears to remixing, mashing and fidgeting with the likes of the obscure and obtuse. His myspace is manifesto to his muture musical mastermind, showcasing his two latest nubile nuggets. Do it.
